Dear admission team!First, I am grateful for your support and collaboration! For Fall 2020 I prefer Hybrid Track Hybrid Track: Students will enrol in a combination of in-person courses and online courses. Students will take up to 2 courses in-person, and take the remaining courses online. I have some questions below:1. When will be started or planned arrival of Hybrid track students’ to the campus?2. Due to COVID 19 crisis I am unable to provide an official transcript by mail prior to my arrival, May I bring my official transcript with me in August to provide to the Brown School Office of the Registrar?

Questions About Deferrment:
Jilly dos Santos
16:42
I’m someone who does not see herself being successful with online learning. Have tried it in the past, not a good fit. I’m worried about deferment because of the merit based package I’ve received. What will re-applying for aid look like? Will it be more competitive? Fewer resources? Everything I have read says that higher ed is going to be strapped for cash because of COVID - how will that affect deferment & merit-based aid? Is there any possibility of deferring to the spring? I think I could maybe manage one semester online, but if the spring ends up being online/hybrid, I would want to withdraw/defer. Is that an option? What does that look like? How would it affect merit-based aid? If someone gives online learning a shot in the fall, and we find it is not a good match for us, is it possible to defer to the following year?
Caleb Bay
16:53
If someone does the full online track and is not physically in St Louis, will there be an option to take proficiency tests online to test out those two foundation classes?
Nia Montoute
16:59
What is the deadline to decide which track we wish to pursue?
Vivian Talamantes
16:59
Are placement exams in the process of being moved online?

Hello! It is my understanding that advanced standing MSW students have a four-week "bridge course" scheduled to begin on August 1st. Will this course still be in-person or will it now be online? Will the course dates still remain the same? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions!

19:21
I know its looking forward quite a bit, but when do you think they will make a decision on whether to continue this format (online/hybrid) or completely on-campus for spring? I am a little concerned about trying to find a partial lease option as an advanced standing student that would only need housing from Jan to Aug.
taylorbridgett
20:06
With the hybrid model, do students get to select which classes they will take online vs. in-person?
Ethan Bradley
20:14
Do we still have a full week of orientation?
Owner
20:14

Andrea Heredia
24:34

MacKenzie Gleason
24:48
For the hybrid option, do you all have an idea of which classes/topics would be in person vs online, or is it an individual choice?
Gabby Bomberg
24:55

yuvrajSandhu
26:22

Thando Kunene
26:48
as folks choose between the hybrid and online options, would it be possible for us to get a sense of the percentage of incoming students who are choosing hybrid vs. online? I'm wondering if by choosing online I would be in the minority (or vis versa)?
Ali Lateef
27:00
Thank you for brining this up Joshua.

28:03
On average, how many credit hours are typical classes at Wash U and if I were to do the hybrid concentration, how many online courses could I anticipate taking in the Fall?
Denis Shine
28:16
Will we have the opportunity to understand how the on campus classes will be conducted before a decision is made between online and hybrid?
Kimberly Cespedes
28:31
What if the student is already in the US? Is the school issuing I-20s?
Ellie Borgstrom
30:36
Will options for course listings be different, and is there any change to the limit on credit hours we can sign up for?
MacKenzie Gleason
31:53
If we opt for the online-only option, can our foundation practicum be non-STL based?
Zachary (Zach) Boros
33:33
How does covid impact any future practicums?
katiebry
33:37
For 3-2 students who have already registered for courses, will these change?
katherineingersoll
35:20
Since classes are generally offered 9-12, 1-4, 5:30-8:30, do you think that this same structure will apply for the online/hybrid classes? Especially given those in different time zones, is there an opportunity to take each class in each of these blocks?
Beefour
36:09
I have a number of questions: first, how is the issue of housing going to be like? Is there graduate student housing (with health protocols arrangements)in place) where international students like me can access?
Lauren Drumgold
36:09
How will the hybrid track work? Will we be able to choose which classes we can take in person or are the in person classes pre-determined?
Caleb Bay
38:49
You mentioned that time on campus will be limited to when students are in their 2 classes. Could you give a summary of anything else students can access in person if choosing the hybrid track? Certain groups, meeting with advisors, etc.
katiebry
39:37
^going off that will we have no access to any study spaces on campus
Ali Lateef
40:53
So for international students in the semester fall, who face flight restrictions due to covid 19, must choose online classes till the easing of restrictions and they can come to the campus?
Beefour
43:38
Second, I live in a country in which my home country has no embassy and I have to travel to another country. With cross-borders all closed, I am not sure how things will pan out and the timing as passports have to be renewed. Is there any form of help or advice the Brown School can offer ?

Michael Holt
51:56
Will online classes extend the duration of the semester or will their be an option to do 8 week courses?
Jilly dos Santos
53:59
Have to hop off but thank you all so much for doing this with so much care for all of our concerns 💚
taylorbridgett
55:51
What about campus services like libraries and other study spaces? Will we have access to them?
Denis Shine
56:47
I must have worded my question poorly before. I wanted to know if we will have more particulars on what On Campus courses will look like - i.e. safety measures - before a decision is made.
