Join us for a live online conversation on the planning, preservation, and opportunities for engagement surrounding public art. The discussion will feature insights on artworks commissioned through Washington University’s Art on Campus program like Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle’s Weatherfield No. 2 (2018), iconic site-specific works located in Laumeier Sculpture Park such as Mary Miss’s Pool Complex: Orchard Valley (1983–85), and temporary works from New York’s High Line elevated greenway. Panelists will also discuss methods of engagement during the global pandemic crisis. Leslie Markle, curator for public art, will be joined by Lauren Ross, executive director of Laumeier Sculpture Park, and Tola Porter, PhD candidate in the Department of Art History and Archaeology in Arts & Sciences.
